Hello, my amazing readers! Thank you so much for sticking around for Chapter 7 of The Werewolf King's Wife!
This chapter was such a bittersweet and wholesome turn for Lisette, but it also broke my heart a little bit when we took a peek into her past. Seeing her get so genuinely moved and teary-eyed over the warm treatment from the castle maids was so touching. For the first time, we get to understand why simple kindness means the absolute world to her. Growing up, Lisette was never prioritized; she was constantly blamed for every single mess or misfortune in her family. The only person who ever brought a genuine smile to her face or shared a laugh with her was her younger cousin, Adora. Because of that heavy trauma, seeing her finally lower her guard, even just a tiny bit, and open her heart to Mira and the maids feels like a huge, heartwarming milestone!
And can we talk about Joshua watching her from a distance? That scene just completely melted me while writing it! Seeing her laugh and smile brings him so much quiet joy, yet he actively restrains himself from joining in because he's genuinely terrified of ruining her happiness or scaring her away. The poor guy is walking on eggshells! Of course, Stefano couldn't resist teasing him a little before dragging him back inside to focus on work. Stefano is truly the ultimate wingman/best friend we all need!
As the sun began to set, we saw a classic moment of miscommunication and quiet fear. Lisette spent the entire day without looking for Joshua once. When Mira gently suggested that seeking out the King would make him immensely happy, Lisette quickly brushed it off, claiming she didn't want to disturb him. But we all know the real reason, don't we? Deep down, she is still terrified of him and the intimidating world he rules over.
It makes you wonder, how long can Joshua stay in the shadows, admiring her from afar, before he decides to bridge the gap between them? Will Lisette ever realize that the terrifying King she fears is actually the same man who smiles just from seeing her happy? And will Adora come back into the picture later on?
