In this chapter, we are deeply introduced to the brutal efficiency and terrifying dark side of the Werewolf King's army. The story starts with a touching moment where we get to see just how deeply Adora cares for Lisette. Her overwhelming fear, panic, and anxiety about something terrible happening to Lisette truly show how precious their sisterly bond is. And sadly, her worst nightmares come true the very next morning when the ruthless werewolf soldiers arrive to collect Lisette by force!
The moment the lead warrior mercilessly executes an elder on the spot just for "disrespecting" Lisette, a grim message is sent to everyone: Lisette is under their absolute protection, but that protection is built upon a bloody foundation of corpses! Poor Lisette is left completely reeling, caught between the sheer horror of a public murder and the frightening, cold reality of her new life as a human prize in a world of beasts.
Now, to be completely honest with you all... I actually received quite a bit of backlash and angry comments when I first published this chapter on other platforms! Everyone was screaming at me in the comments because, ehem... let’s be real here, the entire sequence looked way more like a violent, terrifying kidnapping than an honorable, romantic escort for a future royal bride! Hahaha~! 🙈💔
I honestly don’t blame any of you at all for thinking that way! That was indeed quite an intense and horrifying start for Lisette, wasn't it?! However, I specifically designed this dark scene to set the exact mood, stakes, and tone for the entire story. I wanted to strongly emphasize that, despite proposing this political marriage in the name of peace, the Werewolf King still harbors a deep, burning hatred toward humanity because of the tragic incident that tore their two worlds apart 500 years ago. He isn't here to play nice, and his ruthless guards are certainly not going to roll out a red carpet or act polite for a human!
I know it feels extremely intense, scary, and a bit frustrating right now, but this is just the raw beginning of their incredibly complicated dynamic. I promise there is so much more depth, emotion, and character development to explore as the story unfolds! 🎨✨
