Chapter 17 Summary:
Joshua finally fulfills his sacred vow, allowing Lisette to see her younger sister, Adora, from a safe distance. To Lisette's immense relief, Adora is living a comfortable life in a proper home, with Joshua’s messengers delivering regular supplies to ensure she never knows hunger or hardship again. However, the joy of the visit is short-lived. On their journey back, Joshua hopes to take Lisette to a place filled with his most cherished memories, but the atmosphere shatters when Lisette suddenly coughs up blood and loses consciousness. In her dark slumber, she experiences a haunting dream of ancient ruins where she sees a younger Joshua weeping over something, or someone lost to time. When she finally opens her eyes, she finds herself back in the Werewolf Kingdom, held tightly in Joshua’s arms as he trembles with overwhelming fear for her life.
